The Quest

It's that time of year again. The time when tickets become the Holy Grail, and college students go U-hopping in an effort to score good tickets. Or just tickets. So what's this all about? It sounds cheesy, but it's the UAAP Cheerdance Compet.

It was last year that Raine and I were in this crrazy adventure, searching for tickets the day BEFORE the competition. Why is this such a huge deal? Simply because 1) Tickets in almost ALL participating universities get sold out the minute they are released 2) Tickets all over are hoarded by people from some schools I know. But back to what I'm here for. Last year, in our extreme desperation, we went to UE and NU for tickets. Na-da. General admission tickets were but a dream. And just when we have heaved sighs of resignation, this very kind UE officer whatshername chased us as we were already making it to the EXIT of the Sports Office and told us that they had LOWER BOX-A tickets. It was around 7 PM and I vowed to love UE from that day forward. I mean c'mon mamon, decently obtained tickets (meaning, we need not negotiate with those irritating scalpers in the venue) less than 24 hours before the event? You gotta give that to luck.

This year, there's an installment of last year's quest. Fieldtrip! U-hoppin' and running for time was really fun. As it was a day I immensely enjoyed, because we were spontaneous for the most part of it- and that's just not me at all, but I got to go with the flow, I give you a blow-by-blow account of what this day was like. :)

8:00. KC and Kay cues in the long, snaking line in the UP gym. Finding out that tickets are sold on a 'one ticket per ID' basis (thus the rest of us will not be getting a chance at buying tickets), they text Lucha, Raine and me

8:30. KC and Kay decide to go to NU to hoard tickets. They're already Legarda-bound

9:30. Raine joins K&K

10:30. Rej completes the line-up

10:45-ish. We get Gen Ad tickets from NU. Guard says 'Wala nang tickets sa cheering, pinagpiyestahan na ng mga taga-UST'. True enough, there were groups of Thomasians in the counter. Tiene suerte porque ellos aproximado tu NU. Lucky us though, we chose to enter the right gate. We would have left with long faces

11:00- ish. We arrive at UE, in hopes of getting better tickets. We can still sell the GenAd tix anyway. But the mean man in the sports office sent us off with 'Wala nang tickets sa cheering, naunahan na kayo'. We tour their campus before leaving and see their interesting bus
*which so shames the UP bus, in terms of appearance*- the brainy people's photos plastered on the one side, and the brawn-y people's on the other

11:30- ish. We hop on a cab to Adamson

12: 20- ish. We arrive at AdU and make friends with the guard stationed at the ped lane *NOT*

12: 40- ish. We hop on another cab to Ateneo. We don't believe it, but the guards told us Adamson did not even get tickets

1:15- ish. We arrive at UP. We have abandoned plans of going to Ateneo, because they had no classes. And don't sell tickets to non- Ateneans

1:25- ish. KC, Lucha and I attend our C120 class

2:20-ish. Our prof had to dismiss us early, so we decide to try Araneta

3:00 -ish. The skies grieve with Erap. We get stuck in Mini Stop Katipunan, perfect bonding session over the super cheap *but nonetheless yummy* sundaes

4:00- ish. We head on to Cubao and get greeted by SOLD OUT. So we bond, bond, bond

5:00. We all head home

So. Go to NU if you need tickets. BUT when we went there, they had like 15- 20 left, so I dunno. The group behind us could've bought all those already. Or some other people, you never know. It's been exhausting, but I don't feel as tired as I did in the CRSC. And it was a non-academic activity, so that makes all the difference. It's just so rare to be hanging out with CRes people without sampling, alpha level and transcription in our vocabulary. And I also miss hanging out with my since-freshie-days blockies. I love everyone in the block, though. Almost everyone.

Now let's not turn my mood around. Not now when we're sure to hit Araneta on Sunday. GenAd's fine. In fact, it's great. :)

Sunshiney

And she held me, with an almost absent touch.
It bordered on real and fantasy.
She whispers faintly, her words almost gone. I listen.
They were already gone.
I delay my retreat. As I wait for the touch to earn warmth.
For the rhythm of her verse.
I await her homecoming.
And for a minute. Or forever.
I owned her space. And maybe.
She still owns me.

Welcome back, or welcome to this newly-revived blog. So why did I bring this back to hyper life? We do not go into that. The aboveposted Greek as I'd like to call it, is of no significance whatsoever. So pay no mind. This blog will serve as *just like my previous blogs* the ultimate venue for me to stash my thoughts and cram it with every single issue I feel like talking about. If my very considerate schedule would allow, that is.

If you don't know me, and don't even want to go to my initials, go away. But if you're my friend, or if you're not, and you find me cool/admirable/amazing/cute then WELCOME! If you don't, let me show you the X button in the upper right corner of your screen. Haha joke lang. Mabuhay! I'll try to update this lil blog of mine more religiously. :)

Thanks for dropping by!
